I just love the rain.
The way the light grey skies
seem to hide the sun,
and water droplets coat the sky
as if caught in a baby’s blanket.
The feel of warm, fluffy socks
and flannel pajamas,
the soothing taste of hot chocolate
with whipped cream peaks.
The feel of your locks
as I twist and twirl them
between my fingers,
your head cradled in my lap.
Talking, laughing,
hugging, whispering.
Subdued tones
soft kisses
on a long, seemingly endless
lazy Saturday afternoon.
My fantasy is me,
you,
and the rain.
