Aurora
One day I dream of seeing
the Northern Lights
where light and color
dance in the sky,
as if in response
to the mellifluous tones
of Boney’s horn.
Or to the sultry tones
of Phyllis
in her smokiest of renditions.
Or to the beating of my heart
whenever you touch me,
hold me,
look at me.
The lights respond to love,
and so do I.
